Site Manager wanted with a ground works background for a 2 years contract in Tewksbury

BCS Connect are seeking an experienced Site Manager for a long-term freelance role based in the Tewkesbury area.

This position is ideal for someone with a strong groundworks background, particularly on housing development projects. The successful candidate will take full responsibility for managing on-site operations and ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee all groundworks activities including foundations, house drainage, external finishes, and general site management.
• Coordinate and manage gangs of 30–40 operatives on site.
• Liaise directly with the client, subcontractors, and suppliers to maintain progress and quality.
• Conduct daily safety briefings, toolbox talks, and site inductions to ensure all operatives work safely and understand their responsibilities.
• Enforce and monitor health & safety compliance across the site.
• Maintain site records, progress reports, and ensure adherence to project timelines.
• Assist with material ordering and resource planning.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in groundworks for housing projects.
• SMSTS or CSCS Black Card certification (essential).
• 1st Aid at work
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple gangs and deliver work to deadlines.
• Solid understanding of site safety and construction regulations.

Role Details:

• Location: Tewkesbury area
• Duration: Up to 2 years
• Start Date: 3rd November
• Pay Rate: £270 – £290 per day (freelance)
