Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Freelance Site Manager to oversee construction projects in Manchester. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all on-site activities, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. This role requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a thorough understanding of construction processes and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Oversee all stages of the construction project from initial planning to completion.
- Site Supervision: Manage day-to-day operations on the construction site, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity.
- Team Leadership: Lead and supervise a team of construction workers, subcontractors, and other site staff.
- Budget Management: Monitor project budgets, control costs, and ensure efficient use of resources.
- Scheduling: Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring timely completion of milestones.
- Quality Control: Ensure all work meets the company's quality standards and project specifications.
- Health and Safety: Implement and enforce health and safety policies, conducting regular site inspections.
- Stakeholder Communication: Liaise with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure clear communication and project alignment.
- Problem Solving: Address and resolve any issues or conflicts that arise during the construction process.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records, including daily logs, progress reports, and other necessary documentation.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in site management, preferably in commercial and residential construction.
- Education: Relevant qualifications in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field.
- Certifications: SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme), CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme), and First Aid certifications are required.
- Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge: Thorough understanding of construction processes, building regulations, and health and safety standards.
- Personal Attributes: Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work under pressure. Excellent problem-solving abilities and a positive attitude.
