Senior Estimator required for our client based in St Albans

Our client is seeking to employ an experienced Senior Estimator for their business based in St Albans.

Our client is a well respected, privately owned contractor providing services to developers and main contractors throughout the UK. They deliver various ground works, civils and infrastructure projects to their clients specifications.

The ideal Senior Estimator will have experience on civils/groundworks based tenders.The ideal Senior Estimator will also have experience working with Causeway and/or Bluebeam software.

Role & Requirements

• Working as an senior estimator on behalf of main contract or sub contract packages
• The ability to work on various schemes with being able to with the workloads expected.
• Have good knowledge of NEC and ICC forms of contracts.
• Comfortable working on project with values up to 12 million.
• Compile and issue tender queries during tender period and ensure responses are dealt with in the submission
• Liaise with the legal and insurance departments to ensure compliance to company strategy and protect from potential risk
• Provide mentoring and guidance to others in the estimating team
• Provide tender handover pack on all successful bids
• Assist quantity surveying department with compensation events build ups
• Attend pre tender meetings
• Review unsuccessful tenders and analyse for future bids
• To ensure that all operations carried out within your area of responsibility are undertaken with full regard for the safety of visitors, other members of staff and yourself.
• To carry out all other appropriate duties as assigned by your line manager.
• To have the hunger to succeed and grow with a business who are growing too.

Essential

• Engineering or commercial background
• HNC or equivalent in a related Engineering qualification
• Experience in water and civil
• Proven track record working on tenders ranging up to 50m.
• Numerate and IT literate, familiar with estimating software and Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel
• Chartered, incorporated status or similar
• Ability to ensure all tender submissions are both feasible and profitable.

Desirable

Knowledge of wastewater, rail, or the tunnelling sector

The successful candidate will receive the following package

• £90,000 to £100,000 basic salary (based on experience)
