Experience civils based Planner required - Leicester
BCS Connect are seeking to employ and experienced Planner for our client.
Our client, a well-established civil engineering contractor operating across the water, utilities, civil engineering and mechanical sectors, is seeking an experienced Planner to join their team on a permanent basis.
Based in Leicester, the successful candidate will play a key role in the planning and successful delivery of complex infrastructure and utility projects by developing, managing and maintaining robust project programmes.

Key Responsibilities
• Develop, maintain and manage detailed project programmes across multiple civil engineering and infrastructure schemes.
• Work closely with project managers, engineers, commercial teams and site teams to ensure programmes accurately reflect project requirements and constraints.
• Monitor project progress against programme, identifying delays, risks and opportunities.
• Produce programme updates, progress reports and forecasts for internal teams and clients.
• Assist with the tender planning process, including construction methodology and sequencing.
• Identify critical path activities and advise on mitigation strategies where required.
• Support project teams with programme recovery plans where delays occur.
• Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure alignment with programme milestones.
• Maintain programme records to support contractual claims, variations and change management.
• Provide planning support across projects within the water, utilities, mechanical and civil engineering sectors.
Qualifications
Candidates will ideally hold one or more of the following:
• Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or a related discipline.
• Professional membership or working towards membership with a recognised body such as the
• Association for Project Management (APM)
• Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB)
• Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE)
• Planning or project management certifications such as:
• Primavera P6 Planning Certification
• APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ)
• PRINCE2 (desirable)
Experience & Requirements
• Proven experience working as a Planner within civil engineering, infrastructure or utilities projects.
• Experience delivering projects within water, utilities, mechanical or heavy civils sectors.
• Strong working knowledge of planning software such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
• Understanding of construction sequencing, project lifecycles and programme management.
• Ability to analyse programme data and provide clear reporting to stakeholders.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Knowledge of NEC contracts is highly desirable.
