Job Title: General Operative – Factory Environment

We are recruiting General Operatives to join a busy factory on a temp-to-perm basis. The role offers a starting rate of £12.21 per hour, with the opportunity to secure a permanent position after the initial period. This is a full-time day shift role, Monday to Friday.

As a General Operative, you will be a key part of the production team, carrying out a variety of tasks to support the smooth running of the factory. You will need to be physically fit, comfortable using hand and power tools, and confident working in a fast-paced environment.

Your responsibilities
As a General Operative, you will be involved in a range of factory-based duties including loading and unloading machinery, ensuring materials are fed into machines correctly, and carrying out routine checks on products to maintain quality standards. You will also be responsible for handling raw materials, moving goods around the factory floor, and assisting with assembly or production line tasks. The role will involve using powered hand tools and other equipment safely, maintaining a clean and organised working area, and supporting colleagues to meet daily production targets. Manual handling is a key part of the role, so you must be comfortable lifting and moving products throughout the day.

What we’re looking for
You must be physically fit and able to work in a hands-on role. Previous experience in a factory, warehouse, or production environment is an advantage but not essential. A strong work ethic, reliability, and the ability to follow instructions are key to success in this role.
