General Operative Vacancy

BCS Connect are currently recruiting for a General Operative on behalf of a well-established company based in Cannock that specialises in architectural metalwork and fabrication. This is a fantastic temp to perm opportunity for the right individual looking for a long-term position within a growing and respected business. The pay rate starts at £12.21 per/hour.

The role will involve a variety of tasks including operating machinery and equipment used in the metal fabrication process. Candidates may also be required to operate a forklift truck if appropriately licensed. General warehouse duties will form part of the daily responsibilities, including loading and unloading materials and assisting with the movement and preparation of fabricated components.

This position involves manual handling and heavy lifting, so applicants must be physically fit and comfortable working in a hands-on, industrial environment. Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of the workspace through housekeeping duties is essential, as is supporting skilled fabricators and engineers with day-to-day tasks. The successful candidate will also be expected to perform basic quality checks and follow all company health and safety procedures.

Previous experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or industrial setting is preferred, and having a valid FLT licence would be an advantage, although not essential. We are looking for someone who is reliable, punctual, and has a positive attitude with a willingness to learn and take on varied responsibilities. This is a full-time position, with working hours to be confirmed at the interview stage.
