Buyer wanted - Birmingham (Civils & Groundworks)
BCS Connect is recruiting on behalf of our client, a leading civil engineering and groundworks contractor, who is seeking an experienced Buyer to join their growing team in Birmingham.
This is a pivotal role where you will manage supplier relationships, oversee purchasing, and ensure our projects receive the best value as the business expands. You will play a key part in driving efficiency, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness across all projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage purchasing activities and supplier relationships/accounts.
- Negotiate competitive rates with suppliers to maximise project value.
- Support tender processes and project planning with accurate cost data.
- Work closely with the Project Manager and Director while exercising a high degree of autonomy.
- Provide reliable, detailed figures and reporting for ongoing projects.
What We’re Looking For:
- Strong experience in procurement or buying, ideally within construction, civil engineering, or groundworks sectors.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining strong collaboration with senior management.
- Detail-oriented with strong numerical and analytical skills.
